One Word I Offer

HOPE. If there’s one word I would like to offer you and breathe into the depths of your being for World Mental Health Day 2018, it would be hope. Those four letters contain within them, powerful seeds; the awareness that we all have the innate ability to continue to carry on through each and every day.

Hope is a way of thinking and being, rather than an emotion. Hope may be seen as having two aspects: I see my future (I know where I want to go) and I shape my future ( I can figure out how to achieve my goals, and I can be flexible and develop alternative pathways, I'm persistent, and I can tolerate disappointment and try again). Hope believes in self (I can do this!). May I offer you a little hope today.

I want you to know you are not alone. If you need help, please ask someone, there are still many kind and hope filled people in the world who will journey with you.

Honour your suffering, but seek hope.

Have a gentle day.
